Film Review Outline
I. Using the information from your guide, plan your introduction.
Use a "hook" to catch your reader's attention. For
example:
A. Describe a scene, incident, or dialogue from the film,
B. Remind the reader of the last film by this director or lead
actor, or
C. Connect the film with some current event.
II. After the introduction, follow one of these two organizing
structures:
Plan A
1. Description/summary
2. Analysis (Literary, Dramatic, and Cinematic)
3. Evaluation (Was the film entertaining or not? Why?)
4. Conclusion
Plan B
1. Overall opinion (evaluation)
2. Description/summary
3. Analysis (Literary, Dramatic, Cinematic)
4. Conclusion
