Lifting the Veil of Ignorance

Lifting the Veil of Ignorance is a monument to educator Booker T. Washington on the campus of Tuskegee University in Macon County. The sculpture, by Charles Keck, was dedicated in 1922. “He lifted the veil of ignorance from his people and pointed the way to progress through education and industry.”
