Rules for Effective Film Viewing

  1. Know the purpose for watching the film.
  2. Be familiar with the film.
  3. Introduce film by having students discuss what they already know or have heard about the film.
  4. Read what others have to say about the film.
  5. Research to learn about the director, actor, and any other interesting fact about the film.
  6. Students should learn the language of film.
  7. Discuss the film as it is being viewed.\
  8. Give or suggest topics or specifics to look for each day.
  9. Plan a summary activity.
  10. Offer suggestions for out of class work.
